GREY COUNTY WOODLOT ASSOCIATION

    A Chapter of the ONTARIO WOODLOT ASSOCIATION
...encouraging the improvement and sustainable management of the forests in Grey County

GCWA events provide opportunities for members to increase their knowledge and understanding of trees, forestry, woodlots and wood products, and a chance to meet and chat with other woodlot owners and natural resource professionals.

SEPTEMBER

GCWA Fall BBQ

Property tour at 10:00am

BBQ and social time at 12:00 noon till 2 pm.

At the home of Sulo Lehtinen in the Municipality of Southgate (from Grey Road 4 between Priceville and Ceylon, go south on Grey Road 14 to Artemesia Southgate Townline (at first curve on Grey Road 14). Turn right (or go west) and proceed down to 911 # 285366, on left (or south side of road).

Cost is $5.00 per person or $10.00 per family to help defray costs. If possible please bring your own plates and cutlery.

OCTOBER

Bruce Grey Forest Festival

at the Allan Park Conservation Area, between Hanover and Durham

on October 19th, 20th and 21st, 2010

This first ever educational event in the Bruce Grey Area is set to enlighten the minds of grade 7 and 8 students on the importance of forests to our environment and our livelyhood. Approximately 300 students per day will have hands on learning experiences of up to 31 forest related activities.

Lots of volunteers are needed to make this festival become a success and hopefully an annual event. If interested in volunteering on one or more days, please contact Karen Mortimer At Saugeen Conservation, phone 519-364-1255, ext. 44 or email k.mortimer@forestfestival.ca
